Other States

The Clark County Attorney’s Office typically allows defendants to receive their drug and alcohol evaluation in the state of their residence.  Individuals choosing to do so, however, must prove that their evaluation was conducted by a provider who is licensed to perform such evaluations pursuant to a statute substantially similar to K.S.A. 8-1008.  No assistance is available from the Clark County Attorney’s Office in locating these providers or ensuring that the provider is adequately licensed.  If in doubt, defendants should seek an evaluation from a Kansas provider.
